Create images and videos in the AI tools you already use.
MCP is a standard way for AI assistants to use external tools. Connect PixZoo to an MCP-capable assistant. Describe what you need and let it find models, submit generation, track tasks and retrieve results, all within your workflow.
Ask for article illustrations, product images or video assets while writing, planning or building a website.
Let the assistant handle the steps
Your assistant can discover models and parameters, use references and follow task progress while you focus on the creative direction.
Use your PixZoo account
Generation uses your existing credits and appears in your PixZoo task history. Cost depends on the model and parameters. Connecting alone does not start generation.
Get started in three steps
You need a PixZoo account, a valid API key, and an MCP client that supports remote Streamable HTTP with custom request headers.
Prepare your account and key
Sign in to the API page and create a dedicated key. Check your credit balance before generating. Enter the key only in a trusted client’s connection settings, never in chat.
Add the PixZoo server
Add a remote HTTP server in your AI tool’s MCP settings. Use the URL and Authorization header below. Do not select local-command-only stdio mode.
Check the tools, then ask
Start by asking for available models. Once the five tools below are available, describe what to create and explicitly approve using credits.
https://pixzoo.ai/api/mcp/
Replace YOUR_PIXZOO_API_KEY with your key. This page does not collect or store keys.
The JSON example is for clients accepting url / headers. Field names, environment variable expansion and file location depend on your client. The Codex example reads the key from an environment variable.
Connect from common AI tools
MCP support alone is not enough. The client must also support remote HTTP and the Authorization request header.
WorkBuddy
Check your version’s capabilities
Open WorkBuddy’s MCP or tool management settings and look for a custom remote server option. Menu labels vary by version.
If HTTP / Streamable HTTP and custom headers are supported, enter the server URL and Bearer header above, then save and enable it.
Ask for PixZoo’s available image and video models first. Versions offering only stdio, legacy SSE or OAuth cannot use this configuration directly.
The JSON below is a reference for connection fields, not a one-click import tested across all WorkBuddy versions.
Cursor
Remote HTTP + headers
Add a custom server in MCP settings, or edit your active MCP JSON configuration.
Use the JSON example for the pixzoo url and headers, replacing the placeholder locally before saving.
Enable the tools and query models first. Approve generation calls when prompted by your client.
Never commit a configuration file containing a real key to source control.
Custom MCP apps in ChatGPT have their own account, workspace and authentication requirements. They are not equivalent to a client with arbitrary custom headers.
PixZoo currently requires an API key Bearer header and does not provide MCP OAuth discovery for ChatGPT’s standard linking flow. Pasting the URL alone will not complete authentication.
If your particular ChatGPT client explicitly supports a custom Authorization header, you can try the settings above. Otherwise use a compatible client, such as Codex.
A ChatGPT subscription does not include PixZoo credits. AI environments that can execute external HTTP requests may also use the API guide; ordinary chat is not guaranteed to have that capability.

What to ask after connecting
Describe the purpose, size and references, then confirm the model and cost. These examples only copy a prompt; they do not start generation.
Article cover
First query PixZoo’s image models, recommend one for an article cover and explain its pricing. The theme is “slow living in the city”, landscape 16:9, natural light, no text. Wait for my confirmation, then generate one image and return the task ID and result.
Reference image
Use my product photo to create a clean ecommerce scene. First check that you can read and upload the file, then query PixZoo models that support reference images and explain the cost. Wait for my confirmation before generating one image, preserving the product’s appearance.
Video asset
Query PixZoo’s video models and supported durations. Propose a landscape clip of a red panda walking slowly through a forest with a steady tracking camera. Explain the parameters and cost first. After confirmation, submit exactly once, query the same task until complete and return the result.
The tools your assistant can use
Reading local files, uploading bytes and saving results depend on your AI client’s file and network permissions. An MCP connection does not automatically grant access to your computer’s files.
list_models
Discover image/video models, supported parameters and pricing rules.
presign_upload
Prepare a reference upload; the client uploads the actual file.
complete_upload
Confirm the upload and obtain a reference URL for generation.
generate_media
Submit one image or video generation task using PixZoo credits.
query_task
Check an existing task’s progress and results without generating again.
